各位親愛的家長、老師、以及各位同學，你們大家好﹕

時間過的好快，轉眼之間從開學至今，已匆匆地過了三個月，一年一度的聖誕節即將來臨。回顧這過去的幾個月，上至羅校長、及其組員，下至每班任課的老師，皆是競競業業地為這學校貢獻其一己之力。每個星期六短短的三個小時的上課時間，每位老師專注於自己的教學，往往連與其他老師打招呼的時間都沒有。中午十二點半下了課之後，又匆匆忙忙地趕回家忙家裡的事。有鑑於此，學校理事會定於此佳節的前夕，為勞苦功高的老師們、羅校長與其組員，舉辦一聯歡會。一則感謝他們這些時日來的辛勞，一則藉此機會讓理事會的新舊理事、校長組的新成員、以及新的舊的老師們做一個情感上的交流。如此大家可以對彼此有進一步的認識。

我在此亦利用此一機會，祝每位同學，學業精進，節日愉快，也要謝謝每位家長您們在幕後的大力支持，同時也祝福大家聖誕快樂、新年如意！

Dear Parents, Staff and Students,

I cannot believe it has already been three months since our first newsletter.  This semester has truly gone by in a flash.  The three short hours we convene for every Saturday morning hardly allow for any interaction between staff members, teachers and the principal group.  Everyone has been so devoted and focused on their work that little time has been given to socializing with other Hacienda Heights Area Chinese School family members. 

In recognition of everyone’s hard work, as well as it being an excellent opportunity to better acquaint ourselves with the newcomers to the Hacienda Heights Area Chinese School family, the board of directors is hosting a gathering for all of our dedicated staff members in the spirit of the holiday season.

I’ve enjoyed my experiences as chairman of the board of director these past months and look forward to continuing the school’s strong presence in the community for the remainder of the year.

Lastly, even though much of their work is “behind the scenes”,  I’d like to send my sincere gratitude to our parents for their unwavering support.  This school would not be what it is today without your collaboration.

親愛的哈崗中文學校同學、及家長們﹕

好像才開學，轉眼又到了年尾，在此預祝哈崗中文學校所有的家庭，佳節愉快。

我們非常謝謝亞太服務中心 - Ms. Lydia Ko and Ms. Allison在 11/5 為我門所做的專題演講「望子成龍，望女成鳳」。讓我們的家長們有機會聽聽專家們的意見，並指導我們如如何扮演一個成功家長的腳色。亞太服務中心也另外設有各種的親職教育課程，有興趣的家長可直接與他們連絡。聯絡電話是 626-839-0300 。

「家長對子女期望及成就」訓練班已進入第三階段的課程。我們已與所有參加的家長們分享了“學業、智能的發展”、“自我認知、溝通的技巧、社交的建立”、“自我期許與情緒的控制”等單元。我們也將會在下學年度重新開班，有興趣的家長可至辦公室報名。

下學年度，我們也將邀請有訓練執照的家長義務來校開「心肺救甦術」班。家長如如期上完課，並通過測試，將頒發證明書。此班有人數限制，故請注意您子女帶回家的報名表。

有鑒於場地的關係，家長烹飪班將延至下學年度開班。已報名的家長將會個別收到通知。

Greetings from PTA Director:

As we draw near the most joyous season of the year, I offer you and your families my sincerest wishes for an enjoyable holiday.     

On November 15, Ms. Lydia Ko and Ms. Allison from Asian Pacific Family Clinics (APFC) had graciously provided us one-hour seminar “Good Parenting”. Parents had a chance to learn from experts on the subject of “awareness of how to play the roll of good parent”. APFC also offers other training classes in Mandarin and Korean. Their directly line is : 626-839-0300.

Our Parent Expectation Support Achievement training class is continuing. We had shared 3 sessions - “Academic and intellectual development”, “Self-awareness; Communication Skills; Social Development” and “Self-esteem and Emotional Development”. We will repeat this 6 sessions training class next year. Parents who are interested in attending this class can sign up in the office. 

February 2006 PTA will invite certified instructor to offer our parents CPR training class. (Certificate will be issued for parents who complete this course).  Space is limited; please look for our flier for more details.

Due to facility schedule, our cooking class will not star until January, 2006.  We will notify each parent who had signed up for this class.

各位親愛的家長及同學們:

新年快樂！祝願大家2006年身體健康、事事如意！

彷彿秋天繽紛的落英還在隨風舞動、新的一年已經翩然而至。

回首學年伊始，全校師生滿懷熱誠，老師們熱心的指導，學生們也努力的學習。不論是校內校外各項比賽，全體師生都全力以赴，因而表現出不俗的成績（請看榮譽看板）。謹在此感謝老師們的辛苦指導，恭喜參賽及得獎的同學及家長們，也謝謝校長組同仁在會場辛勞的照顧和陪伴，謝謝您們。

哈崗中文學校多年來一直秉持著負責認真的教學目標，以語言為主，以文化傳統為輔。二十三年來培育了許多優秀的人才，而一代一代的義工家長們忠誠的支持，和教師們默默的付出，更是學校長久維持的主要原因。在此謹恭賀任教二十三年的黃富老師和她SAT II班同學，在今

年SAT II中文考試中，有五位同學考滿分（請看榮譽看板），二位790分，及六位780分，這真是個太好的消息啊！

又是一年開始。各位親愛的家長們，語言的學習需要學生、學校、和家庭之間全力的配合，參加各類活動和比賽有助於提高學習興趣，並增加練習機會，也更能加強信心。請鼓勵您的孩子多多參加校內校外的各項比賽。

新年新希望，盼望2006年帶給我們孩子更多的學習興趣，和更大的進步。

Message from Principal, Olivia LIOU

Dear Parents and Students:

Happy New Year! Wish everyone a healthy and wishful year.

In the past 4 months, students and teachers are all very enthusiastic. Teachers are giving out the direction, students are learning diligently. Inside or outside the campus, every one put out more than 100% on all kind of contests. Our score are outstanding this year! (Check on our honorable bulletin board). I would like to congratulate all participants, and their parents. And I would also like to thank all the co-workers. Thank you all.

For many years, teaching Chinese language and culture is the main goal for HHACS. In the past 23 years, we have educated many talented students. With the supportive parents and hard working teachers, our school had 23 successful years. This year, students in Mrs. Rosemary Wang (who served our school since the first day) SAT II class have done a great job on SAT II test. 4 of them got a perfect score 800. 6 of them got 780. Congratulations to everyone in the class.

It’s the start of a new year and we need the involvement of students and parents more than ever. Participating in school events and contests not only aids in the increase of learning interest, but also gains self confidence.

We enter the New Year with hopes that each student progresses academically.

教務處報告               

開學四個月來，校方舉辦了多項活動。首先是北美作家協會與聯合會舉辦的第二屆兒童詩歌創作比賽，本校第二冊同學李伯寬榮獲優勝獎，此項殊榮實屬難能可貴。

10月8 日，舉辦了老師家長座談會，家長們參加十分踴躍，許多家長表示這是一個老師與家長們溝通的良好機會。如果各位家長覺得還有需要與老師交流，可經由教務處或自行與老師聯絡。

11月5日的期中考試，已順利完成。如果家長對學生成績有意見，請與該班老師聯絡。

11月6日由聯合會舉辦的海華文藝海報書法寫作比賽，本校數位學生在六百多名選手中脫穎而出，共贏得五座大獎。

接下來12月17日，有校內詩歌朗誦比賽，感謝同學們的踴躍參加。

下學期將於 1 月28日開始，是日又逢中國春節，所以該日將會舉辦中國年特別節目，希望家長們多多參與。春節將近，祝大家有個美好的一年，新年快樂！

下面是高級班同學方薇在海華文藝作文比賽得獎作品，特摘錄於下，於大家分享。

我的志向

從小到大，我有許多不同的志向。上小學一年級的時候，我喜歡玩芭比娃娃，希望長大後成為一位人見人愛的公主。到了三、四年級的時候，阿媽常常生病，我就想長大做醫生，可以照顧阿媽和幫助生病的人。到了我上了中學後，因為我看了很多書，我就想做一個博士，去世界各國演講，還可以在各地都住一住，玩一玩。但是，上了八年級以後，我的志向又改了，只是我想這一次應該會是我最後一次的改變。因為我真正認識到這個工作的重要性，而我深深地對這個志向懷抱希望。我想做一個「喜憨兒」特殊教育的老師。

我八年級的時候，我跟我幾個好朋友組成了「AID」青少年義工團體，幫一群「喜憨兒」小朋友。他們是一群智障，自閉的小孩。在幫助他們一年後，我才慢慢地明白我是多麼地幸運，我認為「有能力的人要幫沒有能力的人」。在我還沒有參加「AID」青少年義工團體之前，我每次看到這些「喜憨兒」小朋友，有的人外表長的很可怕，看起來很噁心，有的人不停地流口水，一直傻笑，看起來笨笨地。我以前看到他們就想跑得遠遠地。在幫助他們的過程中，我了解「喜憨兒」的限制，使我現在的觀念完全改變了。

我們「AID」青少年義工團體，每兩個星期一次去幫「喜憨兒」。有專門的老師教他們唱歌、跳舞、畫畫、和美勞。老師在上面教，一個義工幫一個「喜憨兒」。有時我握著一個「喜憨兒」的手，幫著他畫一張畫，但是他們的手「不聽話」，那張畫畫得「五花八門」，什麼都有，畫好了以後，我們很驕傲地秀給大家看。看到他們開心的樣子，我更確定「有能力的人要幫助沒有能力的人」，我想將來成為一個「喜憨兒」特殊教育的老師。

做了「喜憨兒」特殊教育的老師，我可以天天和這群活潑、可愛、快樂的「喜憨兒」在一起。有可能，我還能學習到他們的內心世界到底是什麼樣子。我覺得現在的小孩不知道「惜福」，什麼都要最好的，一不如意就生氣了（我也會）。做「喜憨兒」老師，我不但可以幫助「喜憨兒」，而且要教正常的小孩，世界上有比他們更可憐的人，所以不要再「人在福中不知福」。

我的志向跟小時候的不一樣，因為我長大了。做「喜憨兒」特殊教育的老師會很辛苦，沒有公主那麼容易，也沒有做醫生那麼難，但是一定會很值得。
