親愛的老師，親愛的家長及同學們，大家好！

 

又是新的一年的開始，在這裏要祝福各位老師、家長們、及同學們新春快樂、身體健康、萬事如意。

在這新的一年的開始，學校過去這五個多月來，在魯三美校長及他的組員辛勤努力之下，各方面都有長足的進步，學校業務蒸蒸日上，家長訪談座談會亦圓滿的完成，同時參加南加州中文學校所舉辦的作文、海報、及書法比賽，也有良好的成績表現。在這裏要謝謝三美校長及組員為學校所做的努力。另外經平常與三美校長聯絡，得知學校目前已有三組中文常識隊伍，在王慶老師、馬文善老師、及張玉玲老師的領導下，正兢兢業業的為參加四月份南加州中文常識比賽而做最後的努力，在這裏謹代表理事會，祝他們旗開得勝、馬到成功。

各位親愛的家長們，誠如我以往經常強調的，哈崗中文是屬於每位家長的，唯有經常的給予我們批評與指教，我們才能將學校辦理的更完善，更符合家長們的期望，學校的大門永遠的是為家長們而開的，希望家長們不吝指教、更正。

Dear teachers, parents, and students:

 

It’s the beginning of another new year; I want to wish every teacher, parent, and student a prosperous and healthy year.

In the past 5 months, under the leadership of our Principal Sammy and his staff’s hard work, our school is continuing to make progress. We had our parent-teacher conference (through phone). Many students participated in the composition, poster, and calligraphy contest from SCCCS (Southern California Council of Chinese Schools) and many of them also won awards. Special thanks go to our Principal Sammy’s effort.

We have 3 groups of students under training for Chinese History Bee contest. Ms. Wang, Ms. Ma, and Ms. Chang are working hard, spending many extra hours to train our students for the contest in April. I wish them great success on the contest.

As I always emphasized, our school belongs to the parents. We welcome all your suggestions. With your suggestion and participation, we can continue to improve and provide a better environment for our students. Please don’t hesitate to come in to the office, drop me note or just stop by for a chat.

Wish everyone a prosperous Chinese New Year.

校長的話                    校長: 魯三美                               

轉眼間，我這個菜鳥校長也漸漸地進入狀況了，這可要拜謝組員張素貞、鄭學山，尤其是臧宜春理事的文書處理方面。如果沒有了臧宜春理事的協助，簡直不敢想像會是怎樣的情況！謝謝您，Jeffry！今年有一位新組員加入校長組幫忙教物，我們歡迎鍾良音老師，希望家長們有空來辦公室跟她打個招呼。

以下有幾件事要向各位報告﹕

   今年我們學校學生參加中文常識比賽人數特別的踴躍，共有乙、丙、丁三祖。在此要特別感謝王慶老師、馬文善老師、與張玉玲老師的鼎力帮助，訓練計劃急速開始。為了慎重起見，請張老師起草了一份合約，由三位老師再看過後，經家長、學生簽署後交給老師保管。

  聖誕節前，本校舉辦了第一次的捐贈玩具活動，雖然祗有短短的五個星期，學生與家長的反應出乎意料之外的好，總共收集到了一百多件禮物。洛杉磯縣消防局特別派了一部消防車來收集這些禮物，再分派給窮困的小孩們，這個活動讓哈崗中文學校的學生充分表現了他們的愛心。在此要特別向吳小曼理事說聲“感謝您！”沒有您的帮忙，這個活動是跟本就不可能完成的。LA 18 也在晚間新聞報導了這一則新聞。http://www.la18.tv/Video.aspx?vid=8b92bff6-8241-4188-9f8f-73c4af4dcf01

  二月三日我們將辦一個春節POT LUCK，請各位家長踴躍參加，並大顯身手，把自己的拿手好菜帶來跟大家分享。校長也會準備一道菜來，暫時不公佈是什麼菜！

  由扵書法班開得晚，學生人數不足而停辦，校長在此向“余家傑同學”說聲抱歉，同時也謝謝他來當義工。

  一月卄七日為校內朗誦比賽，很高興我們請到了著名主持人江南先生，核桃市市議員林恩成先生，與韓麗文老師來當評審，感謝他們三位。

  在此我也要向三位家長高琪、林秀津、和黎綠蘅致十二萬分的謝意，她們是校長的後援部隊。

這一陣子，天氣相當涼，小朋友記得要穿的暖和些，不要着涼了。

Message From The Principal          January 27, 2007

Time flies, “Rookie Principal” is gradually getting the hang of it. But I must express my utmost gratitude to the team members; Suzan Chang, William Cheng and especially Jeffry Tsang who handles all the data processing. I can’t imagine what we will do without him. This month, we have a new member joined my team. I’d like to introduce to you Mrs. Alice Lin. Alice is a certified teacher currently teaching in Brea. Let’s welcome Alice and come to meet her in office.

I would like to report to you the following:

         We had an overwhelming response from students who are interested in participating in the History Bee tournament. We have a total 3 teams this year. Thanks to 3 teachers (Ms. Wang, Ms. Ma, and Ms. Chang) who undertook the task of training & preparing the students for the contest in April. They wasted no time, and immediately started the training in October, without any rest during the Winter break. The participants had to sign a contract promising to abide by the rules set out by the teachers.

         For the first time Hacienda Heights Area Chinese School launched a “Toys for Tots” program for the holidays last year. Surprisingly in 5 short weeks, the students donated over 100 toys. Our students’ action touched many people. Los Angeles Fire Department’s “Spark of Love” program coordinator sent a fire truck to pick up the toys donated by the students. The students were so excited to see the fire engine showed up to collect the toys. The event was reported in LA18 local news.          February 3rd ,we will have a Pot Luck to celebrate Chinese New Year- the year of the BOAR(Pig,Hog). Don’t forget to showcase your best dish for this special occasion. I will be bringing my favorite dish as well.

         We had to cancel our Chinese calligraphy class because we only had one student. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to the student, I would also like to thank him for signing up as a volunteer student helper.

         On January 27th, we are having poem recital contest to select contestants for the SCCCS’ event. I am very grateful that Mr. Jacky Jiang, a popular local DJ; Mr. Joaquin Lim, Walnut City Council member and Sutima Chao, a Chinese teacher have agreed to the be the judges for this event.

         I would also like to take this opportunity to thank 3 parents; Judy KAO,Jean LIN and Ivy WEI for their help the office.

家長會報告:  家長會籌款活動

非常感謝參與此活動的所有老師、家長及同學們。 您的熱心參與使得此次籌款活動圓滿成功。 

在此我們特別要感謝第二冊的家長彭先生 50 元、 第二冊家長高女士 200 元、 第五冊家長謝先生 30 元的捐款。 理事會臧理事也替家長會爭取到南加電力公司的 600 元捐款， 再加上義賣所得， 此次家長會共計籌得 1800 元。 所得將會照原計劃使用，以同學們的福利為優先。

此次義賣冠軍為第五冊 Lawrence Wong， 謝謝 Lawrence 的媽媽 – Betty 理事 將冠軍的兩張禮卷捐出。  除了禮卷之外， Lawrence 及第二名的 六冊 Eva Hsia 也挑選了 各 10 個小禮品， 第三名, 四冊 Natalie Liu也得到了5件小禮品。 謝謝他們的努力及參與， 也謝謝所有其他參與的小朋友及家長們。 

 

專題講座 ﹕ 大學及大學助學金的申請

1/27 上午 9:45 ~ 12:00 AM 在大禮堂。  家長會將于 1/27 邀請去年非常受歡迎的 College Focus 邱女士來與大家分享 - 大學及大學助學金的申請。  我們也很高興能請到 邱女士大女兒，普林思頓大學二年級的 邱文美 同學來與大家分享一些東岸大學生活注意事項。  請大家不要錯過此難得的機會。  家長會將準備茶點招待， 期待您的光臨， 也歡迎您邀請朋友參加。

 

新年聯歡會

二月三日 上午  11:40 AM 農歷年即將來臨，家長會將在放假前與家長及同學們一同慶祝 （豬）年的開始。上午 11:40 有三十分鐘的表演節目及發放紅包，接下來為 （Potluck）（12:15 開始) 。希望各班家長們帶您的拿手好菜來與大家分享。駐班理事將與家長們聯絡各項細節，家長會將準備茶水及一些食物。
