中文學校 8/15（六）正式開學，上課時間 9:30–12:20。
由於學區租金大幅上漲，學校目前面臨相當大的經營壓力。

親愛的家長您好：
感謝您一直以來對哈崗中文學校的支持與信任。
中文教育的價值，不在於一場考試的成績，而在於培養孩子運用中文溝通、思考、理解文化，並與世界接軌的能力。為回應二十一世紀雙語教育的發展趨勢，以及 AP 中文課程強調真實溝通、文化理解與口語表達的新方向，本校自本學年度起全面優化課程架構，期望每一位學生都能在適合自己的學習歷程中，建立紮實的中文素養與國際競爭力。
新的班級編制將由原有的多個班級，調整為四個班級：初級班、中級班、高級班及 AP 班。新的課程架構將採循序漸進的方式，讓學生依不同學習階段建立完整的中文能力。
本校新的課程設計，不以考試為唯一目標，而是以培養學生具備二十一世紀中文能力（21st Century Chinese Literacy）與全球競爭力（Global Competence）為核心。課程將透過真實情境的學習，循序漸進培養學生的聽、說、讀、寫能力，以及口語表達、專題探究、即席應答、文化理解與跨文化溝通能力，讓每一位學生都能建立終身受用的中文素養。對於未來選擇修讀 AP 中文課程的學生，這套課程也將提供完整且扎實的銜接與準備。
因此無論學生未來是否選擇修讀 AP 中文課程，都能在這套課程中建立扎實的中文能力、跨文化溝通能力及全球視野；而有志挑戰 AP 中文的學生，也將具備更完整、更有系統的學習基礎。
教育需要因應時代持續精進，課程也必須與時俱進。我們相信，這次課程優化將為學生建立更扎實的中文能力、更寬廣的國際視野，以及迎向未來所需的核心素養，也誠摯期盼獲得各位家長的理解與支持。
新學期將於 8 月 15 日（星期六）9:30AM-12:20PMf 正式開學，敬請家長留意相關開學資訊，並協助孩子做好開學準備。

Words from Principal
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your continued trust and support of Hacienda Heights Area Chinese School.
The goal of Chinese language education is not simply to prepare students for an exam, but to develop their ability to communicate, think critically, appreciate different cultures, and connect with the world through Chinese.
To reflect the latest trends in bilingual education and the evolving AP Chinese Language and Culture curriculum, our school will implement a comprehensive curriculum enhancement beginning this academic year. Our goal is to help every student develop strong Chinese language proficiency and the global competencies needed for future success.
Beginning this year, our Saturday program will be organized into four levels: Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, and AP Chinese. Our new curriculum emphasizes authentic communication and real-world language use while strengthening students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will also develop oral presentation, inquiry, spontaneous speaking, cultural understanding, and intercultural communication skills.
Whether or not students choose to take AP Chinese in the future, they will build a strong foundation in Chinese language proficiency, confidence, and global competence. Those who pursue AP Chinese will also be well prepared for advanced study.
The new school year begins on Saturday, August 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Please watch for additional back-to-school information and help your child prepare for an exciting year of learning.

哈崗中文學校
Hacienda Heights Area Chinese School (HHACS)
哈崗中文學校是東區建校最久的一所中文學校。將近四十多年之校史寫滿了輝煌的記錄。當年由一群熱心家長，排除萬難，邀請多位優良老師，共同創立這所學校，它是屬於學生家長，教師們所共有的大家庭。
在百年樹人的大責重任下，大家庭的每一份子都積極、進取、努力地充實自己，為這一代和下一代盡上心力。
HHACS is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious, volunteer-operated educational organization. Our School is organized and operated by a Board of Directors, a School Principal and numerous volunteers.
HHACS holds classes every Saturday morning from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Extracurricular classes are offered from 8:30am to 9:20am. Extracurricular classes include Chinese calligraphy, Chinese flute, abacus and mental math, Chinese dancing, and martial arts (Tae Kwon Do). Chinese language classes are offered from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and are separated by achievement levels from preschool through level 10. We also provide a review course to help high school students prepare for the SAT II Chinese test.
We welcome all friends and supporters of HHACS and parents to join us at Chinese School on Saturdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm. It’s a great place to meet great people, learn Chinese, and contribute to the community!
