學 校 簡 介:
哈崗中文學校是東區建校最久的一所中文學校。將近是四十年之校史寫滿了輝煌的記錄。當年由一群熱心家長，排除萬難，邀請多位優良老師，共同創立這所學校，它是屬於學生家長，教師們所共有的大家庭。
在百年樹人的大責重任下，大家庭的每一份子都積極、進取、努力地充實自己，為這一代和下一代盡上心力。
每個人都是彼此的依靠，彼此的幫忙。教學方面﹕橫面的是環環相連保持學校的質與量的均衡發展，縱面的是生命，文化的代代的綿延相傳，我們不停求進步，保持傳統教育理論的守常，也融入生活及教育的均勻通達，不堅持以往經驗而執一不變卻也能智慧地將經驗成為助力並帶進新的教學理念與實行，秉持近二十年的創校理念不以營利為目的，繼續為教育下一代服務。
我們學校分班精細，質量兼顧，有許多可供選擇的課外活動，包括跆拳、舞蹈、插花、書法、壁報、烹飪、剪紙、繪畫、心算、詩詞朗誦訓練班等，經由這些課外活動班，除了達到聽說讀寫目的之外，可以達到德智體群美育兼顧均衡發展，例如參加校外或聯合會的活動，如朗誦、心算、常識比賽、屢締佳績。今年常識比賽，本校得丙組冠軍，正向全國比賽進軍。由每年許多家長越區送孩子來註冊上課，證明哈崗正是信譽卓著，聲名遠播之中文學校，我們仍期望日日有進步，年年有進步。
The Hacienda Heights Area Chinese School (HHACS) was established in 1982 by a group of Chinese parents in order to provide Chinese language instruction to their American-born children. Our mission is to provide our students learning opportunities through classroom instruction and cultural events that foster understanding and life-long appreciation of Chinese culture, heritage, and philosophy.
HHACS is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious, volunteer-operated educational organization. Our School is organized and operated by a Board of Directors, a School Principal and numerous volunteers.
HHACS holds classes every Saturday morning from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Extracurricular classes are offered from 8:30am to 9:20am. Extracurricular classes include Chinese calligraphy, Chinese flute, abacus and mental math, Chinese dancing, and martial arts (Tae Kwon Do). Chinese language classes are offered from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and are separated by achievement levels from preschool through level 10. We also provide a review course to help high school students prepare for the SAT II Chinese test.
HHACS also holds other events and activities, such as parent seminars on child development, college and college financial aid application seminars, Chinese New Year celebrations, teacher & volunteer appreciation lunches, Tai- Chi classes, yearly school carnivals, and in-school art and poetry contests.
HHACS is also very involved with the activities of our Regional sponsors: The Southern California Council of Chinese Schools. These activities include composition, writing, poster art, and poetry recital contests. The one activity dearest to our hearts is the Chinese History Bee contest. HHACS teams have consistently placed with honors in the past, and this year our History Bee team won the National Chinese History Bee contest. Way to go, Team!
We welcome all friends and supporters of HHACS and parents to join us at Chinese School on Saturdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm. It’s a great place to meet great people, learn Chinese, and contribute to the community!
